Accenture (ACN) Earnings Preview: What to Expect From Thursday’s Q4 Report
Analysts are split heading into the print, with price targets raised across the Street even as the stock trades well below its 52-week high.
Accenture reports fiscal fourth-quarter and full-year 2026 results before market open on Thursday, October 1, with a call at 8:00 a.m. EDT. It’s one of just two S&P 100 companies on the calendar this week — see the full list in our Corporate Earnings This Week tracker — and a closely watched bellwether for enterprise IT and consulting spend.
What to Watch
Consensus calls for EPS of $3.18, up modestly from $3.03 a year ago, on revenue of $18.04 billion versus $17.6 billion last year — a much more measured growth profile than the AI-hardware names reporting elsewhere this quarter. The bigger story for Accenture has been generative-AI-related bookings, which management has flagged as an increasingly large share of new business, alongside softer discretionary consulting spend from large enterprise clients still working through budget scrutiny. Watch for updated guidance on fiscal 2027 revenue growth and margins, as well as any commentary on headcount and pricing in its core consulting business.
Analyst Estimates and Price Targets
Analysts are notably split ahead of the print. Wolfe Research’s Darrin Peller (Outperform) raised his target from $165 to $215, and Citigroup’s Bryan Keane (Neutral) moved his from $135 to $190 — both meaningful upward revisions. TD Cowen’s Bryan Bergin (Hold) raised his target from $151 to $173, and Morgan Stanley’s James Faucette (Equal-Weight) lifted his from $130 to $175. Wells Fargo’s Jason Kupferberg struck a more cautious note, downgrading the stock from Overweight to Equal-Weight with a $194 target. The mix of higher targets alongside a rating downgrade suggests the Street sees recovery underway but isn’t yet unanimous on the pace.
The stock has rebounded roughly 52% off its June lows but remains well below its 52-week high of $291.09, leaving room for the report to move shares meaningfully in either direction depending on how the guidance lands.
Why It Matters
Accenture’s results are one of the earliest reads each quarter on corporate technology and consulting budgets, and its commentary on generative-AI bookings offers a useful cross-check against the infrastructure-side AI spending story told by companies like Oracle in its recent earnings report. A steady or improving guide would support the more constructive half of our H2 2026 market outlook; a cautious one would add to concerns that enterprise spending is lagging the AI infrastructure buildout.
